So. What have I done lately?

Well, I went up the Empire State building and took pictures of unsuspecting tourists.

And while I was up there, I took a couple of pictures of the city. It seemed a shame not to.

Where have I been?

That's really none of your business. Suffice to say that they let me out.

Now. Here are some pictures I took before I went inside.

niagara, E7 and Ave A

East 7th St. and Ave. A.
There used to be a club called A7 on this corner back in the Nineteen Eighties. A band called Ism wrote a song about it, and it was the B-Side for their cover of the Partidge family song "I Think I Love You", which featured a picture of two fornicating monkeys with the faces of Shirley Jones and David Cassidy. That was very amusing when I was 15 years old.

If I was a man this would be so much skeevier...

But I am a nice middle aged lady (a mom, even) so my intentions are completely pure.

At the time, I cursed that cyclist for ruining my picture...

But now I think he is the best thing about it.

New Yorkers may wear a lot of black...

... but that does not mean they are afraid of a little color.

Tourists beware!

Warning! Up and down Fifth Avenue roving gangs of smartly dressed rogues are pulling the old snowball-in-the-handbag trick on unsuspecting visitors! The mere sight of stylish luggage in the hands of anyone but themselves drives these jealous dandies to vile acts of snow-based vandalism!

Thankfully, disaster was averted when this particular scheming fop was scuppered mid-dip. Hopefully the gentleman at the front was using his pocket-phone to alert the constabulary.

Keep alert! These handsome bounders will surely strike again!

Whatever you do, don't look at the rabbit.

You will only encourage him.

Whatever you do, don't look at the rabbit.

What glory, indeed!

Taken on May 25, 2007, over my shoulder through my rear window while stopped in traffic on West 29th Street (or thereabouts).

It was 87 degrees out. That's some dedication to incomprehensible self-indulgence.

The second picture was also featured on The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks. One of my proudest moments.
